CEO Corner October 2023

10/12/2023

Recently and for the first time, BBBSNH hosted the Mid-to-Large size BBBS agency-mid-year conference here in the Granite State. Agency CEOs from around the country came together to share best practices, lift one another up, and work together on how to best serve more youth in life-changing mentoring relationships. I have never been part of a group that is so dedicated to the mission and one that likes to have fun at the same time!

A special shout out to Howard Brodsky at CCA Global Partners for hosting the crew for lunch and his talk about leadership and doing the unexpected. When it comes to the volunteer experience, we have to go above and beyond.

Who was your mentor? Have you ever thought about who got you to where you need to be? A person that pushed you to believe in something bigger.

For me, that person is Kerry. She was that person in my corner - the person that was there when I needed to talk or she was the one sending me care packages to college. It was 30 years ago and we still keep in touch today. Can you think of someone that did that for you?

Next month we will kick off our Thankful Giving Campaign to honor the mentors in our life. BBBSNH also wants to thank our many volunteers that spent over 24,000 hours this last year shaping the lives of kids for the better, forever.

Honor your mentor by donating to support the next child that will be matched with a mentor. We currently have over 150 youth waiting for a mentor and we won’t stop working to match every child that wants a mentor, with one!

We need your help to do this. Here are TWO simple things you can do right now to support our Thankful Giving Campaign:
  • Donate to support a mentor match.  Every dollar counts and goes to a match.
  • Forward this email to a few friends so
    • They can sign up for our newsletter and learn more about the mission
    • They might want to volunteer as a mentor in one of our flexible programs
    • They might want to support a mentor themselves by giving or setting up their own FB fundraiser
It takes a village so thank you for your support of mentoring.  #MentoringWorks

With gratitude,
Stacy
