Mentoring Resources for Women's History Month

3/9/2021

March is Women's History Month. We are reminded of the strength and courage of all the women who pave the way for others to follow in their footsteps. We invite you to spring into the warmer weather with your Little by exploring these resources together:

Interview an important woman - This worksheet was designed for teachers, but will help you and your Little organize your thoughts so you can sit down together and interview someone. It could a Little's parent or loved one, someone you both admire, or even take a shot and reach out to a woman you both admire but don't know to ask her for a few minutes of her time.

Visit WomensHistoryMonth.gov - This website, maintained by the Library of Congress, contains a wealth of audio and video clips detailing the contributions of women in our nation. It also includes a listing of upcoming events throughout the month, many of which can be viewed live on social media.

Read a book - The Huffington Post compiled a list of 17 books for children and young adults that highlight the accomplishments of women, with titles including Rad American Women A-Z and Who Says Women Can't Be Doctors? Check out the full list here.

Explore Women's History in the Granite State - Read short biographies of 27 New Hampshire Women, and then plan an outing to check out one of the communities where they made their mark!

Check out a podcast highlighting amazing women - The podcast "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls" is based on a book of the same name that features 100 stories about women. Download some episodes to listen in the car on an outing with your Little.
